I knew right away that he was "the one" and our relationship took off from there. God gave me everything I'd ever prayed for and more in him. Of course there was a condition in the gift... I had to move to Texas. Yep, I now live in Texas! I've found that I really do miss everything about California. Everything from my family to the food. At first, I was naive about it all and really thought that I could give it all up and not miss it, but I was quickly proven wrong. All in all though, I don't mind living here...Curtis makes it worth it.

~

Not very long after Curtis and I got married, we got pregnant. According to my doctor we got pregnant around May 26th...we got married on May 8th. Not long at all eh? I've found that pregnancy and I do not get along very well. I was extremely sick from week 6 to week 17 of my pregnancy. At one point, Curtis took me to the ER because for three days straight I hadn't been able to keep ANYTHING down... not even water. While there, the nurse was digging into my arm with an IV trying to find my vein. Thankfully she ended up pulling it out and putting it in the top of my hand. I was so dehydrated at the time that my veins were very hard to find. From the point my pregnancy got a tiny bit easier...but not by much. They put me on Promethazine, which helped me with the nausea and helped me keep food down. After week 17, I quit throwing up. Thank God!

~

On September 29th, we found out what we are having. We found out we are having a girl! We've already decided on her name and that is Amelia Evaine Boaz. We love names with meanings and we loved the idea of a name that really isn't all that common... unlike mine. =) Amelia means "To Strive or Excel or Rival", Evaine is another form of Eve meaning "Life" and our last name, Boaz means "Strength". Amelia already has her daddy wrapped around her tiny finger and we will be expecting her to arrive around February 16, 2011.

~

We got to go out to California for the week of Thanksgiving and we had a great time! While there my family and friends threw Curtis and me a surprise baby shower! I was oblivious until I'd walked into my Uncle James's house and saw everyone in there. You would have thought that the balloons on the mailbox would give it away, but all I'd thought was that I'd missed someone's birthday. I remember walking in though and trying not to cry. I was so surprised and very happy to see everyone... I think that's probably the moment that I realized just how much I missed everyone. The baby shower went very well and we received A LOT of clothes for Amelia. We have clothes of every size and when I say every size I mean newborn to 24 months. I really am blessed to have such great family and friends. The rest of our visit went well and we brought home a lot of my furniture including a rocking chair that my mom received from my grandmother when my mom got pregnant with me. It was SO hard to leave though, believe you, me. I don't think I've completely recovered yet, but I know that in a little less than 2 1/2 months I'll at least get to see my mom and my sister. They'll be coming out for Amelia's birth and I've found that Alisha, of all people, is excited about becoming an aunt. I never thought I'd see the day that my sister would be spoiling a baby that has yet to be born. Alisha has bought her everything from a pink stuffed dog to a pair of baby vans and baby converse. I never thought a baby could bring near as many changes to mine and my family's lives, but I'm glad for the changes.

~

While in California, we were given a free photo session from the woman who did our wedding photos and I cannot tell you just how much we love her and her work! She is an amazing person and an amazing photographer. I'm still waiting for a link to the full size photos, but I took a screen shot of one photo so that ya'll have a small glimpse of what's to come. Click on the photo and visit her website! She's great and if you live in the Southern California area...she's a great person to go to. She's not super expensive, her work is great, and she is just an all around great person.

~

Right now I am 29 weeks and will be 30 weeks on Wednesday and Amelia moves so much these days that sleep has become pretty difficult to come by. I know that it's only going to get harder when she's born and keeping me up with late night feedings, but at least she won't be kicking and jabbing me from the inside haha. In fact, she's moving pretty rapidly as I type this. I know she's going to be one hyper little girl, but I think Curtis and I are up for the challenge.

God's work in our lives.

All things work together for the good of those who love God, isn't that right? I think that sometimes we, as Christians, forget that. Often times, we find ourselves questioning and getting angry about God's work in our lives instead of embracing the constant changes and works in progress. As He works on us, we grow, we experience, and we learn. If it wasn't for God, all of us would probably be lost in a state of confusion.

Over the last 20 years, God has taken me through many dark alleys and brightly lit paths and with each experience I learned a little more about myself, my role in this world, and God's never ending faithfulness.

Some of the lessons you are able to see right away...others you don't actually understand until you've gone down other paths. But you do eventually know why God worked that situation into your life. There is always a reason we go through what we do.

If you think hard enough and maybe you don't have to think that hard, I'm sure you could come up with at least one situation, where you felt the trial/tribulation you were going through was all for not. Now hold on to that situation...think about a time when God used your "all for not" trial/tribulation to strengthen or further something else in your life. It could have played a part in some major turning point in your life or just have been used to witness to someone else.

Regardless of how big or small the situation was, you learned something and maybe even had the chance to share what you learned with someone. But one thing you and I both know was that you found that God was with you every step of the way. He didn't give you more than He knew you could handle and in the end, you were okay. You were stronger and just a little bit wiser, with an all-knowing God smiling and directing you onto another path, another lesson, another step towards an eternity with Him.

So when you have those moments that seem like an eternity where you want to give up and be angry with God, instead praise Him. Thank Him for giving you the chance to learn another lesson. Thank Him for the work He has yet to do in your life and the lives He will save by your testimony. Remember that in all that you do...God is there, ever faithful and always working on your future.

Editor's Note:
After I wrote this, I decided to look up the verses that went with my thoughts. This came out of nowhere. I'd decided to sit down and update my blog and before I knew it all of the above was written. So without further ado, here are the verses that coincide with what I'd written. The first verse on the list is the one that I found to be my main verse.

James 1:1-13

Romans 8:28
Proverbs 20:24
Psalm 32:8
1 Corinthians 10:13
Psalm 37:23-24
Proverbs 16:9
Proverbs 20:24

Summing up the last few months.

It was brought to my attention that I needed to update my blog...Thanks Karen. Haha So I do apologize for the delay. So without further ado...my first blog posting in months!

The last couple of months have been very interesting. Of course, most always in a good way.

~*July*~

Our youth group went to the P.E.A.K. conference and it was absolutely amazing! God has His hands on everyone at the conference and He moved so heavily in the services. What can I say...God really got a hold of everyone. I really wish I could replay it for everyone, but it was so awesome that no words could begin to describe it.

Let's fast forward a little!

~*August*~

This was a busy month for me it seems. I started a job with an Energy Drink company that is just starting up in California. The company is called Bionic Products and the energy drinks are AMAZING! I am not saying that because I work for the company, but because it's true. These energy drinks have no sugar, no calories, and no carbs. Because the energy drinks are all natural there is no terrible crash and you still get an awesome tasting drink. Everyone who has tried the drinks immediately came to the conclusion that the drinks were the best energy drinks they had ever had. This was compared to Monster, Rockstar, Redbull, etc. to name a few.

A week later, I went to the beach with my youth group and had an amazing time. Unfortunatly though, I was hanging out while dealing with bronchitis. Whoops! I'd actually never recovered from getting sick on the way home from P.E.A.K. so because of that I missed a whole lot of class and playing catch up is becoming difficult. Please keep me in prayer as I am trying to get the work done without stressing myself out too much.

Let's see...what else happened that month? Oh! We had those terrible fires up here! The fires were so close that I could see the flames while going up Yucaipa Blvd. It was pretty crazy. My cousins were actually evacuated from their home, but thank God that they came back to their house still intact. Those were some hecktick days for everyone I'm sure and my heart goes out to all of the families who lost their loved ones and/or possessions because of the fires. Please remember to keep them in prayer!

~*September*~

I was told by the nurse practicioner at Crafton that I had had a touch of pneumonia. Scary stuff. Thank God for keeping it from turning into full fledged pneumonia though. God has been really good to me. Despite everything I have done wrong in the past, He has always been so faithful and has kept His hand on my life. I really don't know where I would be if it hadn't been for His everlasting love and mercy. Thank you everyone for your continued prayers as I know that I have needed them.

Bionic Products did another event this month and well, it was awesome. Of course, there were some problems, but I did my best to bite my tongue and pray. A big thank you to God and Karen, who worked hand in hand to keep me steady.

~*Other Stuff*~

I have been doing well, of course things could always be better, but I am content. God has been moving so much in my life! I mean He really has been amazing. Where would I be without Him? I really do not dwell on that, only because I know that I would be a TERRIBLE mess and obviously, God has been very gracious. If you only knew, right? I have gone through many a trial and tribulation...but without them, I wouldn't be where I am today.

I've been wanting to write some more poetry, but nothing has come to me yet. The day was a slew of mixed emotions, but I think I handle them pretty well. Instead of concentrating on what would have been, I threw myself into errands and work. Not only that, but I was once again reminded of a lesson that I had already learned. That lesson being that God is faithful to His children. Never forget to praise God through your storm, because His faithfulness and guidance is what helps you get through it.

I began the day by getting up, getting dressed and running to Stater Bros. for mom. After getting out of the store, I decided I really needed some liquid energy so where did I go? Oh yeah, I went to Starbucks and got my Caramel Frappachino. It was delicious lol.

On my way home, I made a quick call to James, because I owed him an apology that was overdue. Still don't see how he thought I had nothing to apologize for lol. But it made me feel so much better to apologize. I'm glad to know that I can count on him if I ever need to talk to someone.

Anyway! After arriving home, I found out I bought the wrong product. So I was sent back to the store. Ugh, that was not fun. I hate holding up the check out line because of a dumb exchange. So, yeah I finally got the right product and hurried home.

After my time spent in the car, I decided to clean it. It took me a good bit to get it done simply because I really cleaned it. I didn't just toss the trash and straighten up the trunk; I deep cleaned it. I used interior wipes and wiped down everything. I threw myself into cleaning my car and listening to my music on full blast and I wasn't feeling bad at all. Quite the opposite in fact. I was feeling pretty good and when I finally got my car cleaned I felt accomplished.

After cleaning my car I went into my room and spent maybe a little too much time alone and idle. I started to think about what would have been and I thought of the two sides of the coin. As much as I was excited about being a bride and becoming a wife, I was also so thankful because I know God took me out of a horrible situation. I, in no way, regret my decision to leave. I only regret that it took me so long to do it. Dumb fear. So by the end of my thoughts, I was saying a prayer of thanksgiving. Prayer really is so important! I ended up listening to my music; The full versions of the songs I have posted on this blog page. I just felt so grateful and excited. It's amazing what God does for you in times of need when you turn to Him!

I wrapped up my night with some good old exercise lol. I hopped on the treadmill and walked two miles at a brisk pace. After that I took a shower and now here I am. I made it through this day! I was so prepared for today to be difficult, but it really turned out alright. God really has a way of working things out. I feel as if He has reassured me that my future will be better than I can possibly imagine. God is great and greatly to be praised!

Isaiah 25: 1
O Lord, thou art my God; I will exalt thee, I will praise thy name; for thou hast done wonderful things; thy counsels of old are faithfulness and truth.

Deuteronomy 32:4
He is the Rock, his work is perfect: for all his ways are judgment: a God of truth and without iniquity, just and right is he.

Psalm 36:5
Thy mercy, O LORD, is in the heavens; and thy faithfulness reacheth unto the clouds.

Psalm 117
O praise the LORD, all ye nations: praise him, all ye people. For his merciful kindness is great toward us: and the truth of the LORD endureth for ever. Praise ye the LORD.

Psalm 119:89-90
For ever, O LORD, thy word is settled in heaven. Thy faithfulness is unto all generations: thou hast established the earth, and it abideth.

Hebrews 13:5
Let your conversation be without covetousness; and be content with such things as ye have: for he hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee.

Happy 3rd Birthday!!

Christopher,
Wow! Three years old! You are growing up so fast. I remember when your mother found out she was going to have you. It was chaos, but she loved you right away. After all was calm and quiet, she got excited. We started discussing your name and everything that she wanted to do for you. Then 9 months later you were born and your mother was so proud! You were so tiny, but you had a pair of lungs on you that could put all others to shame. You are adorable and I love you so much! I only wish I got to see you and your mother a bit more. Maybe soon though. You are an impressive little man and I cannot wait to see what life is going to send your way.

Heather,
Can you believe it?! It seems that this past weekend has been the most entertaining weekend I've had in a long time. I keep finding myself wanting to go back to it all over again.

Friday was our (my dad's side) family "reunion". It started at 7:00 P.M. and by the time everyone was home and out of Brenda's, it was 2 A.M. It was so much fun! It was a bit loud, with some many children around, tons of crazy, and an evening full of great memories. The food was fantastic. Brenda, Hope, and Becky, ya'll did a great job on the food! Everyone was entertained in some form or fashion, mostly thanks to Brenda and Kenny's Wii and the Cooties the girls played with. Oh yeah, I "borrowed" the photos Brenda took. Haha hope you enjoy them.

Saturday, I spent most of the day with mom, trying to find the perfect gifts for my sister. Well, we didn't get home until 9 P.M., but I had a lot of fun that day. Alisha was so happy!

Sunday was great. Alisha woke up 18 years old and church was awesome. Although there wasn't any preaching, God was moving and like I said... it was awesome.

So my weekend was great and full. I'm wondering now when my next big weekend will arrive. Only time will tell. A lot will be taking place in the next few months and only God knows how it will all turn out.

Happy 18th Birthday!

Alisha,
I cannot believe you are now 18 years old! It seems like just yesterday we were playing together. You have grown up so much and I am so proud of you! Unfortunately, these days I more-less have nightmares about Maxx. I've been having this reoccurring one the last several days and every time I wake up, I am on the verge of tears and fearful. It might help to just tell my dream though and see it through two perspectives.

Through Maxx's perspective, I see me walking around at the college just having a good time and talking to people. He see's me smiling and being happy. He turns to a friend that I do not know and his friend begins to speak. He tells Maxx that he needs to show me who is boss and let me know who I belong to.

The perspective changes to my own now. I have just gotten done talking about getting a job and make my way over to the bulletin board on the wall next to the Admin. building. No, there is no bulletin board there in real life. Anyway, I look through the window of the building expecting to see Steve, Floyd, and the rest of the staff in there, but I only see an empty room with empty walls. I turn back to the bulletin board and begin to look for a job and finding none, I turn to my left. There in front of me is Maxx. He has a wicked look on his face and I instantly feel terrified. I begin to walk the other way and he grabs my arm then lets go when I turn towards him. He says "hi" and I just stare. I think quickly and make a run past him, making it to the door of the Admin. building. He catches me, grabbing me by the hair right as I grab the door frame. I start to scream and cry and eventually manage to pull myself into the room. As soon as I am in the room, the entire staff is there and the room is as I know it in real life. Maxx takes off and I'm bawling and screaming to catch him and get him far away from me. The entire time that I am in hysterics, I am thinking "I have to get a restraining order filed against him" and at one point I scream those words. Then I finally wake up.Each time I have the dream, it feels worse. Terrifying really.

Maxx and I had a bad relationship, although I tried my best to cover it up. Screaming and fighting almost all of the time, while I tried so hard to leave, but I couldn't bring myself to. Often times I would be in tears and wondering why I was still around. I never wanted to hurt him and I was scared for me too, although I wouldn't acknowledge it at the time. I just want to thank everyone for their continued support and prayers. It was all of those prayers and God that gave me the strength to leave. It took me far too long to do it, but I do not regret my decision.

Please Hear This Prayer

Lord, I need Your strength,
And the will to smile,
To get me through this day,
And get me through this trial.

I know You're always there,
As faithful as can be,
But Lord, I feel that I am drowning,
Please come rescue me.

I went to Knott's Berry Farm with my sister and two cousins, Tiffany and Danielle. During that great day I, along with Danielle and Alisha got sunburned. Lucky for Tiffany, she just got the nice dark tan. That brat lol. Anyway though, it was a great trip and I am seriously considering going to Knott's again soon.

What a sad and crazy world we live in.

"Making the decision to have a child is momentous. There on the homepage I read the words "Woman faces charges over baby in plane’s trash". Though thoroughly disgusted, I clicked on the link to read the full story and read this: "WELLINGTON, New Zealand - A woman who secretly gave birth on a flight from Samoa to New Zealand may face criminal charges, police said Friday, as they investigated reports she abandoned her baby alive in the plane's bathroom....Media reports said the mother left the baby in a bathroom waste bin on the Pacific Blue plane carrying 150 passengers; others said she was spotted with bloodied clothes in an immigration line. Police have declined comment on the reports." You can read the full story here.

What has this world come to when a mother will abandon a child in an airplane, let alone a trash can in the plane! You would think that after carrying a child for 9 months a woman would grow completely attached to that tiny baby growing inside of her and in all honesty, if she really didn't want that child that much, why not hand her over to a hospital where she can be placed in a home where she would be loved?

There are so many women who want children, yet can't have any. What harm would it do to give them up if they are willing to let the baby die in a trash can? This story actually reminds me of one I heard a long time ago. At one point in time, there was a pregnant teen who went into labor during prom, so what did she do? You guessed it. She went into the bathroom gave birth to her child, stuck the child in a trash bin and went right back out to dance the night away. Are girls becoming that heartless and self-absorbed? It really is sick. I'd really hate to be that child though...growing up and finding out that your birth mother wanted so little of you that she tossed you into a trash can. It's really unbelievable.

If I'm correct, I also heard a story of a girl who's parents had no clue she was pregnant, in fact they didn't find out until it was too late. The girl gave birth in her bath tub and if i remember correctly, killed her newborn with a pair of scissors! It is horrible to know that these tiny, innocent babies (the ones who don't survive) will never know a future, and will never get the chance to experience life.

Having a child is a gift from God, although some people do not think so. Of course, I don't have any children yet, but hopefully I will eventually, and I already cannot imagine doing that to him/her. Everyone who knows me well enough, knows that I want so badly to be a mother and have been babysitting for a long time...so for some reason, I already take it very personally when something like this happens.

It really is a cold, cruel world out there and as sad as it is, I don't see it getting better any time soon. My only wish is that the women who have it in their mind to rid themselves of their newborns in such a despicable way, realize when they hold that precious baby in their arms that that child deserves a life. I know that some women do not want to get attached to the baby, but letting them die isn't going to do anything, but ruin more than just the baby's chance at life. Give the baby up or if they don't want to spend the time taking them to a local hospital, see if someone else can take them there. And in all honesty, if you don't want children, why would you carry it for 9 months then decide to kill it off? I am not for abortion by the way, I guess I just don't understand the logic in keeping it for 9 months then killing it.

So, having said all of that, please keep this newborn baby girl in your prayers and Lord help that woman to realize what she has done.

Quick Note...

I have, in fact, been putting this off, but it's time I finally say it, well write it anyway. Mom and I just reserved the rentals for the wedding day and have just recieved the contract we have to sign for the wedding photographer. Now I just have to pick what I want shots of and what I don't want shots of. Fun, fun, fun. I now need to choose a honeymoon (going away) outfit, find some sample hair styles for my bridesmaids, plan a meeting with Sis. Betty Martin about the wedding cake, order the wedding invitations, buy a Bridal Shower gift for Heather's bridal shower, and I am sure there are other things that I need to get done too. I just can't think of them at the moment. The good news is...there is less than 4 months to go until the wedding.

Tuxedo Rentals

Mom and I finally got something else accomplished today! Together with Maxx and my cousin, James, we went down to the Men's Wearhouse in Redlands and picked out tuxedos for the guys to rent. The salesman was very helpful and the tuxedos are going to look great. Maxx will definitely look dashing in his tux. I was hoping we'd be able to get the jackets with one button, but because Maxx is so tall, we had to go with the two button jackets. Can you believe though, that to have an extra button on the tuxedo jacket you pay about $40.00 more?! So, after my discount for buying my dress at David's Bridal, the guys will be looking to pay like $140.00. Oh well though, they will still look great.

Luckily, my bridesmaid dresses are going to be a lot cheaper then renting these tuxedos. That is good news for my girls though, so it's all gravy.

So, that is one of the several last big things that needed to be done in the next four months and I am excited that all of the planning and headaches are almost over. Yay me!! I always thought that the whole "gift registry" thing was supposed to be a bunch of fun. It didn't take me long to realize it wasn't all that fun. My eyes will finally get a rest from looking through all of the items on the Bed Bath and Beyond website. I was going to register at two places, but after dealing with the whole registering of the products, I decided it would be easier all the way around to just be registered at Bed Bath and Beyond. Maybe it's because the wedding is getting closer that I am getting so anxious about this stuff. I know that at times I find myself annoyed at some of thee craziest things, but I'm hoping that I can keep myself in check long enough to keep me from becoming a "Bridezilla". So please bear with me everyone as I face the last 5 months as a Bolger. These last months are probably going to be the most strainuous on everyone.

I don't know about you guys, but now as for me...I'm off to figure out what else I need to get taken care of before the big day. Anyway, I went on a search through-out my city trying to find a T-Mobile store and finally I find it (note: this is a registered t-mobile dealer but not a T-Mobile store). I went in and soon found out that according to them, the retail price for my phone would be over $400.00, but from looking online and going by the information Maxx had been given my phone was to be $299.99. They told me that 299.99 was for a new activation or an upgrade for existing customers. For those of you who might not know, an "Upgrade" is given as an option to you at the end of your "1-year" or "2-year" contract. So I was a little more than angry and called Maxx to confirm his end of the story as soon as I got into my car. He let me know that what he has been told was in accordance with our contract and my buying price should be $299.99 + tax. So thinking that maybe because this place was just a registered dealer and not a T-Mobile store, they were able to raise their retail rate above average. I came home and called the Redlands T-Mobile store and they gave me the exact same answer!!! I was furious. Thinking of only three other things I could do (check the price online, call Customer Service, or sue T-Mobile for false advertising) I chose the two that I could actually afford and would take too much time. Checking the price online, you will never guess what the retail price was...drum roll $299.99!!! After this I called the Customer Service and talked to a very helpful representative who apologized and let me know that those two places were giving me false information.

So this entire thing lead me all the way to the mall where at the first T-Mobile booth thing, the guy let me know that if they had any (which they didn't) they would be over $400.00 with that I went to the other T-Mobile booth thing and finally! Finally I got the correct price! $299.99! Yes, you heard me correctly, not all places will give you a false retail price thinking you will bite the bullet and buy it from them anyway.

I know that $299.99 is expensive for a phone, but almost $500.00 for a phone?!?!?! These people are out of their stinking noodle! The moral of this story is...if the price on the Carrier's website says a certain amount and a store says another, you had better call Customer service. Chances are that price online is correct and the other place is trying to con you into paying more and is enjoying taking every penny to your name.

Just thought I would share...

I finally got the picture of my bridal bouquet! I don't remember exactly what time it was when they got to the house, but I do know it was after 3:15 P.M. We went from the house up to Apple Hill...for those of you who live in Southern California and even for those who don't, if you've ever been up in the San Bernardino Mountains in a place called Oak Glen, than you'll know that Apple Hill seems to be almost a carbon copy of Oak Glen. While up at Apple Hill we walked around for awhile then decided it was time to leave for dinner.

We went to this really kewl seafood place on <st1:street st="on"><st1:address st="on">Main Street</st1:address></st1:street> and I started to chow down on sourdough bread. When the Kelly's got to the restaurant Sis. Leslie kind of grabbed at my wrist and asked to see it. This didn't register in my brain. The whole time we were eating the main subject was of another couple in Maxx's church who are getting married. None of this struck me as odd. Right around the time I finished eating I realized I had to go to the bathroom. So I told everyone (cause it is the polite thing to do) and moved my arm to get up and knocked my soda down, causing it to spill on my skirt! As soon as that happened I was like "Well, now I really have to go to the bathroom!" So we all laughed and I went to the bathroom and tried to clean it up. For some reason though I had this odd knot in my stomach and I couldn't, for the life of me, figure out why. So I came out and the girl who was busing our table saw me then was like "Here she comes!"...it didn't click. So she walked swiftly behind me and when I got within eye shot of our table there was a piece of cheesecake on the table with whipped cream on top and a yellow candle. I started laughing, finding it odd, especially since I told Maxx that I didn't want cheesecake after all because I felt full. So I sat down at the table and the girl lit the candle and stood close by. I was half expecting "Happy Birthday" to come out of everyone's mouth haha. But Maxx came over in front of me and got down on one knee and began to start to propose to me. He didn't get through one sentence before he started to cry. Then I started to cry. He bought me a watch...granted it's not a very expensive watch but I don't care. He seems to care though and says that this watch is a temporary and when he was the money he is going to buy me a better one. I was bawling and so was he and I was just so happy! As soon as he had started proposing everyone started noticing and things were being said like "Oh! Look he is proposing!" There were many cheers going on and wow =). Hard to believe I'm engaged. Yay!!!!
